design

These pages follow W3C recommendations and validate as HTML5.

View this web-site with the browser of your choice; it will look better if your browser renders CSS. I aim for a semantic mobile first responsive design.

I try to keep pages small so that these load quickly. I use a single content column to assist the readability. I am open to comment and advice on any aspect of the design or implementation of these pages.

affiliate links

This site contains affiliate links that may provide me with some benefits such as; commission, payments, or discounts. I usually choose to link to products or services that I have paid for myself and found useful and worthwhile. If I have found something useful then it might be useful to you as well. It is your choice to click on any link and follow your own interests. Many of us choose to shop locally where possible and I do this when I can. When I can’t buy locally I buy online.

If I link to a product or service that I received for review or promotional reasons then I will make that clear and obvious. This has yet to happen!

The benefits that I may receive from affiliate links will help me to pay for the services and software that allow me to publish websites.

Privacy

Eclectichacks does not set cookies and does not track you. Your Browser may set aside storage for these web pages automatically outside of my control. The Web Server that hosts this website automatically saves information about your browser, ip address, and other parameters that web servers collect by default. I do not pass this information to others.

If you follow a link from this website then you may wish to check the privacy and tracking policy of the website that you go to.

This website uses Hyvor Talk service as the commenting platform. The comments and other data exchanged are stored securely within the Hyvor Talk system. Your personal data will be processed and transmitted in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you use the comments facility then Hyvor Talk may set cookies necessary for the comments system to work. For more information, please refer to their privacy policy.

Some Browsers and Search Engines may display a Privacy Grade near the URL bar. My understanding is that small websites cannot achieve an A grade because of the way the grading is performed. The Grade may be more accurate for larger organisations that have been audited for the Grade, or have extensive specific privacy pages. As it stands I believe that B+ is the best that I can achieve with these pages. And to be clear: Eclectichacks does not set cookies and does not track you. I like the idea of a Privacy Grade but at the moment, to be kind, the process has yet to mature.
